Originally from Témiscamingue, Bernard Barrette joined Cain Lamarre in 2014. He has been practising in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region since 1981 and focuses his practice on the following areas: account collection, banking law and realization of guarantees, financing and venture capital, and construction law. He has also been an accredited mediator in civil and commercial matters since 2021, and is an accredited mediator for the Autorité des marchés financiers. Mr. Barrette graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Ottawa. He served for 40 years on the board of directors of the Corporation de la bibliothèque municipale de Rouyn-Noranda as director and chair, and in 2010, he agreed to chair the Rouyn-Noranda, ville culturelle du Canada 2012 (Rouyn-Noranda, Cultural Capital of Canada 2012) committee. He continues to contribute to the legal and community life of his region, consistently demonstrating his efficiency, dedication and determination.
