Brent Anderson is a second generation criminal lawyer. His trial practice focuses on serious offences, and he regularly conducts appeals. He has appeared at every level of court including the Supreme Court of Canada. He is dedicated to defending his clients’ interests and approaches each case with passion and attention to detail. Since his call to the bar in 2011, Brent has exclusively practiced criminal law. He was a founding director of the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers and was a member of the bargaining committee that successfully negotiated increased legal aid rates with the government. Brent coaches law students on an annual basis and supervises law students as part of U.B.C.’s Law Students Legal Advice Program. He also presents to other lawyers on a variety of criminal law topics at continuing legal education conferences. Brent co-edited CanLii’s Criminal Law Ebook, a comprehensive and free textbook available online. Away from work Brent volunteers his time to coach youth sports and enjoys playing hockey, mountain biking, and trail-running.
