About
In her talk, Chigozie shared about the strategies she has adopted in her journey as a manager. She emphasized the importance of knowing oneself and one’s capabilities. She also explored the importance of being an adaptive leader, building trust with and within her team, and being purpose-driven. It was exciting to hear her discuss how the MBA program influenced her further growth and development in Canada. She shared her real experiences that resonated with my students, who in a few short months will be facing the prospect of embarking on their careers as master managers post-graduation. Her wise words in this class continued to reverberate in my subsequent class, as we explored decision-making in a cross-cultural context. One thing that resonates is that no one approach fits it all. Working in a cross-functional environment, one adopts what suits the situation at the moment. Always build strength and trust within and among team members by ensuring that you are genuinely intentional about collaboration among the team. I am grateful to Dr Mercy C. Oyet, a great teacher and mentor, for extending the invitation to me.
