Dr. Emily Sanchez Salcedo is a practising lawyer with over two decades of experience having been admitted to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in 2001, the New York State Bar in 2013, and the Law Society of Manitoba in 2021. She earned her basic law degree in the Philippines (Juris Doctor, Ateneo de Manila University, 2000) after completing a three-year Honours Program with twin baccalaureate degrees in Commerce and Psychology (Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Magna Cum Laude, St. Scholastica's College, 1995). She also earned post-graduate law degrees both in the Philippines (Master of Laws, San Beda University, 2007) and in the United States (Doctor of Juridical Science, Indiana University - Blomington, 2013). Dr Salcedo is a two-time Fulbright Scholar (Indiana University - Bloomington, 2010 to 2013, and University of California - Berkeley, 2022) and an accomplished author with numerous books, book chapters, and journal articles published in the fields of law and gender equality.
