About
Gordon MacFarlane was appointed as a full-time Commissioner and joined the Commission on April 1, 2025. Gordon is a lawyer by trade and, prior to his appointment, spent 19 years with the City of Summerside as the Director of HR and Legal Services, Deputy CAO, and most recently as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Gordon has significant administrative tribunal experience having served on the Canadian Pension Plan Disability Tribunal as well as the Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal of PEI. A dedicated community volunteer, Gordon has served as President of the Prince County Hospital Foundation, Chair of the 2023 PEI Canada Games Service Committee, President of the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce and on the Discipline Committee for the Law Society of PEI. Most enjoyably, Gordon has been a volunteer coach and manager for various minor baseball, hockey, soccer, and basketball teams.
