Holly joined Nugent Law Office in 2019 as an articling student and continued with the firm as a lawyer after she was called to the Alberta bar in 2020. Holly has since appeared before all levels of court in Alberta as well as the Alberta Labour Relations Board and various labour arbitrators. Holly practices employment law and labour law and has a particular interest in Charter litigation. Holly attended law school at the University of Alberta, where she awarded the Clinton J Ford Shield as winner of a constitutional law moot. Before law school, Holly got an undergraduate degree with distinction in Political Science and English from the University of Alberta. During her undergraduate degree she presented pieces of writing at academic conferences and Edmonton’s Litfest. Holly has worked as an administrative assistant for the United Steelworkers of America, a barista, a gardener, and as a salesperson selling books, antiques, and fireworks. During law school, she waited tables, worked as a communications and marketing intern for Flying Canoë Volant, and spent a happy summer at the Legal Education Society of Alberta writing blog posts and editing legal texts. She has also volunteered with the Civil Division of Student Legal Services, and as an assistant to Duty Counsel through the Elizabeth Fry Society.
