About
from TorontoDear Ann, My sincere condolences on the loss of the amazing Jean Gabreil. I have very fond memories of our many decades together at Osgoode. He was an inspiring colleague both in terms of his achievements and of his ambitions for the improvement of the legal system and of the world around us. He was also wonderful company at lunch. For many years, it was our faculty practice to have lunch together in the Faculty Common Room. Jean was a frequent attender and a wonderful source of good conversation and simply amazing stories. I am very glad that he seemed to have a wonderful partnership with you and a rich and rewarding family life. I am very sorry that I did not receive notice of the funeral until now. I would very much have wanted to attend and express my sympathy to you and the family in person. I hope that our paths may continue to cross.
