In 2014, Kyle was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration for his service in the Canadian Armed Forces Primary Reserve. Kyle is a former vice-chair of the CBA (B.C.) Construction Law Subsection, and former elected representative of Vancouver County on the CBA (B.C.)
