Kaitlyn graduated from the University of Victoria's Law School in May 2014. She holds a Masters in Political Science also from the University of Victoria. Prior to joining Lovett Westmacott, Kaitlyn was legal counsel with the Ministry of Attorney General's Constitutional and Administrative Law Section which included a six-month secondment as Crown Counsel with the Criminal Justice Branch. She has acted as counsel for various statutory decision-makers in the context of judicial reviews, civil actions and appeals at all levels of court in British Columbia. Kaitlyn has also defended the constitutionality of a number of provincial legislative schemes, including the Motor Vehicle Act, the Child Family and Community Service Act, and the Wildlife Act. She practices in the areas of administrative, human rights, privacy and constitutional law providing both advice and representation in litigation. Kaitlyn is a contributing author to the CanLii BC Litigation Manual. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria where she co-coaches the Gale Cup moot team and often lectures on the topics of administrative law and advocacy.
