Kathleen O’ReillyUpon graduation from Memorial University, Kathleen O’Reilly spent several years teaching English abroad before deciding on a career in law, graduating from the University of Calgary in 2003. She has spent most of her career as a Crown Prosecutor. Currently, her role in the Special Prosecutions Office includes the prosecution of homicides and complex prosecutions, appellate work before the Court of Appeal of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Supreme Court of Canada. During her tenure in private practice with Morris Martin Moore, she represented victims of abuse and participated in the Journey Project Legal Support Service, providing legal advice to survivors of sexual violence. She is a member of the Federal Judicial Advisory Committee and the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Disciplinary Committee and is an active community volunteer. Kathleen O’Reilly lives in St. John’s with her husband Kris Carnell, and is the proud mother of John, Una and Timothy.
