Kosta practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, with a particular focus on construction law and dispute resolution. Kosta represents clients across the construction industry—including owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, insurers and design professionals—providing advice and assistance on a variety of construction management and project-related matters such as procurement, tendering, contract negotiations and drafting, workmanship issues, negligence, builders’ liens, insurance and bonding, cost overruns, collections, and delay claims. In addition to Kosta’s construction practice, he also has experience assisting clients with legal matters in a broad range of areas, including insurance, corporate and shareholder disputes, intellectual property, professional liability, commercial property issues, and employment law matters. Kosta has appeared before all levels of Court in Manitoba, the Federal Court of Canada, the Superior Courts of Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C., as well as before various administrative tribunals. Kosta graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law in 2018 and practiced at a large full-service law firm in Winnipeg for five years prior to joining Merit Law Corporation as a founding lawyer in early 2024.
Education
Kosta has been a regular lecturer and instructor of various business and construction law courses for several years, including at the University of Manitoba and Booth University College.
