Lisa Andersen

Called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2004, Lisa began her career as a civil litigator specializing in insurance coverage and defence, professional liability, and product liability. She has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia. Over time, Lisa developed an expertise in legal research and knowledge management. She provides clients with in-depth legal analysis in a wide variety of practice areas, helping them to make informed decisions when navigating disputes. Lisa brings nine years of experience overseeing legal talent and knowledge management for a national law firm to her role as Director of Professional Services at Poulus Ensom Simth. In this capacity, Lisa oversees staff, student, and associate recruitment; professional development; human resources; and knowledge management. Her work includes curating current awareness resources, drafting internal and external legal content, advising on AI integration, and delivering training and one-on-one coaching in legal research and writing—ensuring our lawyers have the resources and support to provide exceptional service. During her legal career, Lisa completed graduate studies in art history, specializing in early modern French and Italian art. She has held fellowships and conducted archival research at museums around the world, including the Louvre, the British Museum, the National Gallery, and the Staatliche Museum in Berlin. Both her background with hands-on litigation and her deep research and writing experience bring valuable insight to her client services as well as her leadership roles.
