Born on Prince Edward Island in April, 1926, son of Arthur and Louise (MacKinnon) Allen. Died at home in Kingston on September 25, 2009, at age 83. Educated at Acadia University and Dalhousie Law School. A retired vice-president of Brascan Corporation (now Brookfield Asset Management). Loved by his wife Anne (MacRae) of Kingston, Ontario, daughter Susan Silver (Lawrie) of Kingston, son Dr. David Allen (Katrin) of Sudbury, and grandchildren Kristina Silver, Amy Allen and Jason Dordevic. He also leaves his sisters Irene Inman of Ottawa, and Annabel Veale of Prince Edward Island. Predeceased by his brother Arthur of Prince Edward Island. In accordance with Lowell’s wishes, no visitation or funeral will take place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
