Prior to OKT, Matthew articled at a national full-service firm in Toronto where his work focused on aboriginal, energy, environmental, real estate, land planning, and litigation matters. Matthew holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Toronto, where he was a Faculty of Law Fellow researching the relationship between Canadian and Indigenous legal orders. He also holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.), a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L), and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from McGill University, where he served as Managing Editor ofRooted,McGill’s Indigenous law journal, and Director of Business Operations at Compass, a legal clinic for startups. Matthew remains involved in the academic legal community and has published several peer-reviewed journal articles.
