Though Amiel said he did not question the personal integrity of McGill’s leadership — “many of whom I respect” — he said the university had failed to act decisively when it mattered.
“In that absence, direction has effectively been ceded to actors whose objectives are fundamentally misaligned with the university’s core academic mission.”
Last October, the McGill Association of University Teachers also voted in favour of calling on McGill to end partnerships with Israeli universities.
